Allow me to introduce myself

I would like to thank my mom for instilling my love for fashion at a very young age with my crayola fashion design kit. I’d also like to give a shout out to style icons Tia Landry and Tamara Campbell because no one dressed cooler than them in the 90’s. Lastly, I cannot forget Queen Cher Horowitz who cemented my passion for fashion and who remains an icon to this day. As a kid I was organizing fashion shows with my bff and living at the mall on the weekends. It’s safe to say my love for clothing and style runs deep.

As I’ve grown in the community, that love has also been conflicted with hate. There are many sides to the industry that the average consumer does not see. From cheap labour and toxic chemicals to brands trying to push their sub par fabrics and product quality to the unknowing consumer.

After many, many years of grinding and hustling, I was forced to take a break due to health issues. That break was a blessing as it gave me time to pause and reflect on where I was going and what I was doing. By the time I took my break, the industry had made me so sick to the point where I lost my love and joy for it which was a huge part of my identity. The only way I pictured myself coming back to the industry was if I stopped contributing to the problems and helped to steer others away from it. This lights me up.

I believe fashion is a form of art that is meant to enhance our lives, our senses and our esteem. When you look good, you feel good and vice versa. Fashion is a way to communicate how we want to be seen in the world using colour, texture and shape. I want people to love their clothing and wear what brings out the best in themselves. I want people to make smart choices regardless of their budget. Both high and low brands can sell you a beautifully crafted garment or an overpriced rag. I can help sort through it all to make sure you’re getting the best value for your dollar.

As a passionate member of the fashion community for over 15 years, I have had the opportunity to wear many hats. I’ve been Manager of Product Development and Design for a national company, I’ve had the pleasure of working in buying, styling, sourcing, trend forecasting, quality control and technical design among others. I’ve travelled to international trade shows, trend hunted and sourced in Europe and negotiated and developed in Asia. And now I want to help you.
